Citrus & Black- Eat Drink and Be Married

Marissa and Michael turned The Palm Event Center into a world of their own during their special day. With a color palette that matched the darkness of the night sky with black linens and dresses as well as the brightness of the sunshine with bright yellow florals and accents, we were so excited to be a part of it all.

Marissa chose to stick with the traditional bridal theme of an all white bouquet, while creating a very fluffy feeling with flowers such as white Peonies to give her the desired shape, ranunculus and white Lisianthus to add the extra fluff and flow. Against her ivory lace dress, with the satin bow and brooch, the flowers were beautiful. Marisa’s own natural beauty was accented perfectly.

While Marissa and Michael chose to stay with traditional white in their florals, they accented the dark outfits of their bridesmaids and groomsmen with lemon yellow. The groomsmen had boutonnieres of spray roses and the bridesmaids held bouquets of tightly wrapped Calla Lilies. This group had so much fun in their pictures, the whole night through. These bouquets were perfect for this wedding, simple elegance and screaming to have a great time!

Choosing to have their ceremony in the barrel room at The Palm, Marissa and Michael were the first couple to use our brand new pedestal pieces. They chose to use the chocolate brown colored ones to match with the barrels, but we also have ivory depending on what your décor is. Placing these at the head of the aisle with two tall centerpieces from their reception, we created a gorgeous altar for the gorgeous couple. Using tall centerpieces from the reception during the ceremony is a sure way of tying the two, often separate, areas together in décor.

Their reception, in the main hall at The Palm Event Center, mirrored the dresses and flowers on the bridal party. Black linens, Chavari chairs, champagne up-lighting by Fantasy Sound, were paired with both low and tall centerpieces showcasing the couple’s chosen citrusy color. The tall centerpieces were rounded arrangements, which included several shades of their bright yellow; flowers such as mini yellow Cymbidiums, Football Mums, and of course, the romantic Roses that so many brides want included in their wedding.  Rotating the tables between low and tall centerpieces gives the room some movement. This can also help to keep costs at bay, which is especially helpful for brides who are on a budget but want that “wow” factor.

On one last sweet note for this wedding, we were just delighted by this cake, done by Cake Delight, with the varying layers of squares and circles. Placed on top of the fun black and white table runner, what a great way for this couple to show their fun-loving selves through their décor and their cake.

We thank James Willard from Bel Inizio Photography for these amazing images.

Thank you so much, Michael and Marissa! Congratulations to you both.
